....Kim's whims

Having a difficult time thinking of a title for this one.....Yes, ME, at a loss for words! Kind of a once in a lifetime moment, n'est pas??? I will think of one by the time I am done.......

Sooooo, let's see...this week and last were kinda interesting. Got word on the other ankle...another tear up the middle...not the best news for sure. Went back to actually teaching, which was great! I really missed it, and one of my favorite pieces of my curriculum too...Volleyball!!! It felt great...all the way up until yesterday (Friday). My body finally gave in and I got a darn cold! I have not had one all year...maybe because I haven't been working as much this year! Anyhow, it was/is a fast moving one...felt it Thursday night, and whammo...by Friday afternoon all I wanted to do was climb back into bed and sleep, which is exactly what I did once I first got home to pick up Kyle and take him to two music stores looking for some sound distorter thing for his bass guitar, stopped at a store for some "Zicam" to help relieve these symptoms, and then finally BACK home again to get into bed! Felt good enough for some soup for dinner by about 7 p.m. when I woke up. Hoping it will be a quick one...heading to the warmth of the Caribbean in a few short weeks afterall!

Today, I spent two hours at the infamous Bangor Auditorium watching 19 Cheerleading Squads perform their hearts out, including MDI and Ellsworth...My Old Town Coyotes (God I hate that name) were also there, and ended up in 5th place out of the 6 who qualify for the States. I was actually there with my good friend Renee, whose daughter cheers for John Bapst...They were INCREDIBLE!!! Not one wasted second...these girls were moving the whole time they were on the floor, and were the only team with serious tumblers and stunts who didn't drop anyone or stumble during a tumbling run. They won the Eastern Maine Championship for Class B, so that was good for them, and I was very pleased for Renee's daughter Nikol. She is a great young lady...started school with Kyle, so they have been friends for a while...It was fun. It is an amazing thing to watch these teams and their choreography...

Got a kick out of Super Sib #1's "top ten" and could not resist adding a few of my own FOR her...wondering if this means #2 and I have been "tagged" now too??? Should we oblige as well now? Inquiring minds want to know!!! haha

Ok...heading to bed...watching Pretty Woman on the tele...for the umteenth time...Bon soir

MRIx2...Surgeryx3???

Had the MRI on the "good" achillies tendon today...that would be the right one...the one I have been limping around on since Sept. while I barely put weight on the left one. Anyhow, will know tomorrow the actual damage I have done to that one...we knew there were issues, he and I both felt another split up the middle of it as well, but since I can walk on it and push off of it, left it alone for now...now that the other one is finally healing, I really wanted to know just what I will be facing in the future or sooner! I do NOT plan on rushing into this one...but asked about the possibility of arthroscopy on it...he said no because if it is split like the other one, he needs to sew in some more cadaver tissue, and assured me it WILL rupture eventually...but, and I quote, 'since I already know what to expect it should be no problem!' YEAH....THERE IS A PROBLEM...I have already done this twice which should have covered BOTH ankles aready....SHIT (sorry for the profanity)!

So, will know more tomorrow....GREAAAAAT.

Today, went to see The Bucket List with my friend and "surrogate Mom" Penny, and Rob Goodwin, we loved it! Do not listen to the idiot reviewers....this was a great film! I would buy it, and we all agreed we would see it again...very thought provoking. So, I am now making my OWN Bucket List for real...Let's face it, we all have a list in our minds of things we would LIKE to do before we die....Now I am just going to actually put it down in writing though.

Back to work tomorrow...real work...actual teaching...on my feet as in...Wish me luck!

Where are they???

It appears I am blogging alone these days.....I have written three I think and am not sure anyone is reading...or perhaps they are bored (could be). Where heck are the rest of the Super Sib 3???
Hmmmmm.

Lovely weather these days...up at 3:45 this morning after trying to sleep til at least 5 a.m. before I went out in the dark to finish shovelling and snow blowing myself out in time for work...beat tonight now! Amazingly I made it through the day without an additional cup of coffee! haha At this point we are headed towards the 4th of July as our last school day...not to worry though, we will get it off for the holiday!!! :-D Kyle is not amused as he now will be in school on his b-day...I hope to be on my back deck by then, but with half of January and Feb. and March still ahead, I am not so sure!!! Been a strange winter. I am hearing of a nice wintry mix for Friday too YUCK!

Ok...nothing new in the big city of Brewer tonight......that I know of anyhow! Ciao y'all....HOPE to hear from you soon.

Snow sucks

Yup...it really does! Was just getting used to NOT having to deal with it...ha ha...Mother Nature decides to drop a bomb on us again...and perhaps on Friday too! Stresses me out...worry about going out there myself in this physical state, and hate that my son has to do it all by himself when I can't help. Frustrating.

Next Monday I go for another MRI....on the OTHER achilles tendon which is also split up the middle, or so we think. I just know it is taking a beating putting all my weight on it for the most part...will see just what we will be dealing with there...not too soon though!!! He said it will just rupture in time if we don't fix it, and since it IS split like the other one, cannot do it arthroscopically as it will need some additional cadaver tissue as well...Great!
This one is coming though...walking on it now with the new $1200 brace...had to go buy a new pair of sneakers that will accomodate the brace which doesn't make me happy, since I have all these other shoes I could be wearing. Oh well...

Finally got fed up with my neighbor's 3 dogs doing their business on my lawn...AND UNDER MY DECK EVEN! After cleaning up 20+ (no kidding) piles on Saturday, and then some more on Sunday, I finally called and since they were not home, left them a message basically saying it was not fair, I am tired of doing it, it ruins my lawn, and to keep their dogs HOME! Even mentioned that there is a leash law here...Will see what that brings for results. Like to see them put up a fence frankly...It's a good thing Katja isn't still with us...she would have been going nuts when the three of them wandered over here! The worst part about their dogs is that they named them ALL after Yankee players...the latest is named Jeter!!! I hate him the most!

Ok...time to go see about at least clearing away the snow plow's pile at the end of the driveway.
Really, I would much rather have been in school today! Kyle now has to go on his birthday...I told him most kids do anyhow and not to complain. He then added that he would be taking FINALS though!! Oh well...

Stay warm......yeah.....RIGHT!

I STILL GOT IT!!!

Ok, so today, I got a chance to "get even" with a female "beeotch" that attends (sometimes) my P.E. class. While I was out, she had an excuse note from class...cough cough...was not feeling well...for my Sub. He excused her, not knowing otherwise. History lesson: this girl's Mom and I are on a first name basis now, and have spoken a number of times and she knows the crap her daughter is capable of. Anyhow, I saw the note when I returned, gave the kid an excuse, and simply moved on......UNTIL TODAY!
She brings me another excuse, written in the same hand PRINTED mode and PRINTED signature (dead give away kid!!!), and I headed straight to the Emergency forms in the office to double check on the signature. Well, obviously they did not match, nor did the printing on said form. So, all excited that I had bagged a little lying wench, I headed to the Asst. Principal, and we both called "Mom" to find out that, no, she did not know her daughter was to be excused, and furthermore, she is NOT going to, GET THIS, Georgia, to a funeral, thus keeping her daughter from attending a two hour detention on Friday!!!! BUSTED!!!
Made my day...this was actually this girls's 4th offense in my class, and would normally send her packing to a study hall, whereupon she would have to repeat P.E. next year to graduate, but the Asst. Principal gave her a bit of a break...as the forged notes were not discovered til today, so the previous penalties did not get assigned. RATS! I agreed, begrudgingly though. Anyhow, her Mom was P.Oed needless to say, and we have a serious meeting set up for Monday morning with MOM and Student. I LOVE IT WHEN A PLAN COMES TOGETHER LIKE THAT!!!
I SO am the Queen of Mean at my school! Hey...all I ask is for respect, which I am quite sure I have earned. I can be very fair, and I don't hold grudges on a daily basis...every day is a new trial for my kids...unless they keep trying crap like this....Anyhow, this kid is a problem for all her teachers, come to find out. I have the unfortunate luck of having her for P.E. and a study hall she is in for failing classes!!! Should be an interesting first period tomorrow morning!!! I am looking forward to it!!! >:-} (evil Kimmie grin)

The best part of the story was when the A.Prin called her in to deal with her, she kept saying her Mom wrote the note and that she WAS going to GA for a funeral....EVEN AFTER HE SAID HE JUST SPOKE TO HER MOM 15 MINUTES EARLIER!!! Yikes....this kid has issues, doesn't want to be there, and frankly, really is a trouble making sort.

Saw the Dr. today...getting an MRI on THE OTHER ACHILLES in a few days as it is also torn...but I will wait as long as I can at this point. I knew it was coming, and might have been able to deal with it up until the second rupture of the left one that is... The pain is easing somewhat, and he seems pleased so far...says the nerve may just be rejuvenating and/or coming out of the "shock" of being retracted for so long...still numb though, and the pins/needles thing. Am able to bike with a brace on, and swim, so am happy to be moving again at the very least.

T.G.T.I.F. (thank God tomorrow is Friday)

"Cha-Ching" $$$$$$

Dentist today...had to discuss Kyle's eye tooth that is not coming down straight and the baby one that wants to stay put. My/His dentist, also Ken's first cousin, thinks Kyle will need braces...GREAT! Just what I need right now on top of still paying for the ankle bill(s)!!! OUCH!

I know...they have payment plans but it's hard enough being a single Mom..and of course I have this nice Caribbean vacation on the horizon too. When it rains it pours I guess. Kyle is beside himself of course. What teenage boy wants braces for the last two years (or more) of his high school career? I told him we will see what happens; he may not need them for long since this is his only issue, and the rest of his teeth are great. Still, he is not amused! Hopefully, the news will be ok. Plan to use a guy who is a member of our choir in church cause he knows us and that may make it easier on the boy. Will keep you posted.

Other news...Freshman girls are little wenches (apologies to my niece Anna)! I blasted a couple today and told them to grow up, grow some thicker skin, and ignore the other girls who were "bothering" them! What a babysitting job it was today...Ugh! The moron that I work with couldn't "handle" it, so I had to do it. Uh, hello...are you NOT a professional or what?!! He is such a wimp...if I have a problem with the guys, which I rarely do, I DEAL with it! Ahhh, high school life!

Head to the Doctor tomorrow (Thursday) to see about this achilles again. Hoping for some good news there. Am beat after three days on my feet, I know that.

Wish I had something funny to write about...the Super Sibs are "one upping" me! But, they ARE keeping me amused and in stitches! :-D

2008..It's gotta be better....right???

Back to work for this Super Sib today...was an "okay" day in all regards. It was nice to see my colleagues again, and most of my students too. Mainly, I sat in the pool area and supervised the boys while a girl from the Y taught the lesson...BORING! Other than that, I had to put out a "girls' fire" for the other P.E. teacher cause he can't handle that stuff on his own...I am telling you, this is why I had guy friends in high school and not girls!!! What a bunch of cliquey bitches freshman girls can be!!!

I am tired tonight, so this will be short...not used to working yet I guess (ha ha). My ankle was sore today, and I look forward to the appointment with my doctor to get some answers....this is ridiculous right now. My achilles doesn't hurt, just the nerve endings on the side of my FOOT! It is weird, but I guess not unexpected if he did hit a nerve during the surgery. Feels like the prickly feeling you get when your foot goes to sleep, multiplied by about 100 so it is not only annoying, but also painful.

On another note, it is warm!!! I hear Boston may see the 60's tomorrow...love to be there...IN MY SHORTS! I will take whatever we get here though...beats snow and cold any day!

To Super Sib #2, thanks for Anna's school pic. To Super Sib #1, I would love one of Tyler too...please. I asked Don for one, but he couldn't find em and said to ask you. Need one for the fridge of champions ya know! ; )
