Uh...What County is Palmyra in??????

Ok, so I go to Super Sib's for the day and night for some "fantasy garden camping"....I would like to say a good time was had by all (ouch...That damn Beach Rose Bush, Audrey, decided to attack me in a bunch of different places)....but....the working conditions were abysmal....flip flops instead of work boots, Target reject work gloves, a decidely dull pair of shears, a beach rose bush from HELL (and back), and NO cream for my morning coffee!!!! I tell you, it was more like Fantasy DEVILS Island!!!! haha

NO, in all seriousness, I had a blast! Got some nice plants...the super sized geranium looks great hanging on my deck out back....the neighbors already warned me that the next wind storm would be blowing it right over to their deck!!! And of course the hot dog at the greenhouse was a tasty little treat as well.
After a nice shower, cocktails flowed as did Mom's mouth (did I just say that out loud...oops), the pre-dinner appetizers were devoured, and the ribs and steaks came out. Gretchen made two delicious salads to go with the meat, and it was a perfect match!
Had a great time with Kathi and Steve...he is a hoot and fits in very well with this family....IS NOT AFRAID OF CROWDS!!!! Sorry...couldn't resist that one. He was most helpful sharing his tools...I think I will call him "the lopper" now....he is as fanatic as me when it comes to trimming things up. We had a great time re-landscaping the O'Grady view from the deck...can't wait to see how the boys made out with the eye sore by the fence!!! If it's still standing next time I get down........it won't be for long!

So right as we are about to cook though, the Red Cross Queen gets a beeper call...I debated telling her, (not really) but the phone started ringing just as I did....it seems SOME people don't know their county lines yet....ahem ahem. Pretty bad when we actually had to look it up on a map so Gretchen could tell them it wasn't her call afterall....I mean really, isn't one fire enough to handle....like she had to deal with two. The best part was how the fire dept. from one town thought they could just zip over to the other to help....Uh, you might want to take a look at the map also boys!!! All worked out well though, and we didn't miss bite to eat!

So, got home in one piece....no blue hair veterans slowing us down either. Took a run, went to Evensong, and then a barbecue at some friends around the corner....helped get their pool up and running....water was very cold!!! All in all, a productive weekend so far...and there's still tomorrow....Hmmmmm....to parade or not to parade....THAT is the question! One I will decide in the morning......

I'd say the camp conditions were great..even got to go shopping..when do campers ever get to go shopping!! Ideal might be the better word.
Only good thing about the fire calls was missing some of mom's knowledge!!
The disaster Czarina!
