Today, last period of the day, the principal told all drivers of cars and walkers to "leave the building now"...so of course that leaves little room for doubt as to what was going on. Then he tells the bus students to go up to the football field and they will then get on their bus home..now mind you, this is NOT our standard protocol. Usually, we ALL go to the field, take attendance, have the busses lined up on Stillwater Ave, NOT IN FRONT OF THE SCHOOL (duh), and then dismiss...usually telling kids they can't take their cars yet! I don't know what possessed the little man to do things this way...it was like we never had a bomb threat before. So, tomorrow will definitely be interesting as the note was open ended...as in "we won't know when it will happen, but it will be huge"...GREAT!
Supposedly we will have ALL students searched before they are allowed to enter the building...we will see. I hate this stuff!!!!
And then there's my son....the genius who thinks he doesn't need to study, and gets decent grades, that could be SO much better if he put even a little time into it. The worst part is I email his teachers and they tell me what is due, what is not turned in etc, but Kyle still wants to tell me otherwise....SILLY BOY!!! Mommy is a teacher and deals with this all day long....figure it out!
So, this day pretty much sucked from the get go...with a battle at home, then a very sore ankle all day today, then the stupid bomb scare...THE RED SOX BETTER NOT LET ME DOWN TONIGHT...I don't think I can handle it!

Beverly High had a bomb scare last week. They moved all the kids down the street to the middle school. They have one every year but this one brought out the state police, helicopters, some kind of swat type team. Turned out to be a prank call. But the idiot called on his cell phone and then answered when the school called back! Yes. Kids are very stupid sometimes.
WE had every kids' bags/backpacks checked this morning in the lobby before they were allowed in! Had a dog here even...supposedly some student came back yesterday afternoon and ratted the culprit out, so there is a name out there now to investigate...and hopefully there will be no copy cat ploys.
When Caroline was a senior this went on for months they finnally had lock downs and there was this kid who kept leaving the notes in the bath room with a sharpie and the teachers went room to room taking sharpies and questioning kids and asking them to write certain things..the kid spelled one word the same way each time..incorrectly..they got HER!
Yep, I remember that. Actually, this was a dual effort..SHE wrote the note that HE picked up in the boy's bathroom....spelled the word maybe (maybey) three times...busted them on Friday...thank God...late starts the last two days of the week due to searching EVERY kid's bags! Hopefully no copy cat ones in the future.
