YUCKY!!! That is how it looks...my withered little left lower leg....VERY SAD!!! All that exercise for some good looking legs, and now they don't even match!!! haha Actually, it is only an inch smaller around than the right one, but it looks pitiful, really.
The Doc said I am a good healer though, said the incision looked really good and that most of his patients' wounds are red, inflamed, etc...so that was good. I got a new "boot" contraption too...has this little dial on it with angle measurements away from a 90degree flex...I am at 15 right now, so only 15 to go before "normal" flexion...a good sign, and that happens I think next Thursday at my next appt. There was this little allen wrench that came with the boot, but he took it away from me...I told him that was smart cause I just might use it too early! I was kidding, and he laughed...he knows I just might I think! (seriously, I wouldn't though...but you can tell Mom I would...that will send her over the edge I am sure!!!!) How evil I am getting in this dilapidated state...
So, I have a mere splint to wear with an ace to bed...in case I have some funky dream that makes me scream and flex my ankle too much...I WOULD be screaming if that happened. Am able to remove the boot and do a few...very few, exercises to start the rebuilding of the calf muscle and increase the flexion of the achilles tendon. Mostly, it will be in the boot though, especially if I am up and around...feels funny just swinging around at the end of my leg when it is not being supported, and I am scared to death to hit it on something, or step on it without thinking!!! OUCH...that would hurt!
So, I respect this much...I will have to take time...as hard as that is for me and my lifestyle. Sigh! The best part is...no work this week either! I just can't do it...don't dare to risk it, and I have a good sub who is more than willing to help me...so, I can get used to this new position the rest of the week, and hopefully the pain will subside a bit in a day or two...may need those pain pills again though...for a day anyhow, or at least to sleep. Will be great to sleep in any position again though...EXCEPT MY BACK! I hate that.
Ok...enough of the gory details kids. "wanna see my scar"....eeeeeeeeeeeew!!!! Grossed Sib 2 out with the description...threatened to send a cell phone pic of it...but I won't. She just is not strong enough...spleeny as Ken would have said! He would have LOVED this!!!! hahahahaha

Mumsy might come back. Saw sib#6 and the darling daughter in Wally world the other day, she immediately asked if I got the invite. I said something about soccer season not being over and I got the hairy eyeball. When she said to Brianna that this was "auntie Gretchen" the kid hid her head. Lovely.
Oh...those trips to Wally World are wonderful aren't they! She screamed like a banshee when I was introduced as Auntie Kim that time this summer.
I must remember to email #6 today to let her know also won't be in attendance...just can't make the trip yet. So sorry.....NOT!
