Well, it had to happen...I have reached the limit here, and the little woman is headed home Saturday...not a moment too soon.
Things have been ok, no major blow-outs til tonight, just before bed. I fixed a nice dinner for us as Kyle was out, and I was feeling up to it. We sat around and really didn't have much to talk about at this point after spending so much time together already....finally, I am downstairs turning off lights and hear a loud BANG. I come up, thinking she was just taking the stool I use in the shower to sit on out of there so she can shower...I look, it's still there. Curious, I head down the hall and she says, 'this bed is having a problem with its headboard'...Ok, the whole head board is now between the wall and the frame and on the floor at this point... "A PROBLEM" you say? So, I try to fix it, only to hear her tell me I shouldn't be doing this, and she will sleep on the couch, blah blah blah. Of course, I am on a mission now, and squeeze in between the bed and the wall to discover that the slats keeping the box spring in place have also fallen to the floor, and the whole mattress is in jeopardy of slipping through. The other brace at the head of the bed is also coming apart...So she says, 'Well, it' s worse than it was last night, but not much.' HUH???? I asked her why she didn't tell me before now...Do you all remember when she used to break stuff and not tell Dad til it was too late or after she did some flintstone fix it plan? NOW I know how frustrated he was about that...I go on to fix it much to her dismay...she actually said "oh go ahead Kim, and break your other leg too while you're at it!" Now I ask you....is this helping me any??? Jesus!
She finally assists and we get it put back together but she decides to sleep on my couch...as I go to get a clean sheet for her since we sort of put the bed back together and I didn't want to have to deal with stripping it tonight....as I am getting one and TELLING her not to take it off the bed, she goes ahead and does it anyways...giving me a smart alecky tone when she tells me 'too late I already did it!' I was not amused...told her if she was TRYING to piss me off, she had succeeded....which only made matters worse of course.
Anyhow, I hope she has a nice night's sleep on the sofa...whatever! She is impossible sometimes...but I guess we all are. Bring on the weekend...
